Sean Padriac Bala

Associate Professor

Professor Bala completed his B.A. in the Comparative Study of Religion from Harvard University in 2009 and his M.A. from the Divinity School at the University of Chicago in 2013.  Professor Bala has been a part of JGU since 2014. His research focuses broadly on questions of religion and modernity, the creation and maintenance of religious identity, and the relationship between religion, space, place, and the environment. Additional research topics of interest include philosophy of technology, environmental ethics, and theology. In addition to his research work, Professor Bala has worked as a theater director and producer. In previous years, he served as the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement (JSLH), the liaison for the Jindal-Rollins Degree programme, and was part of the curriculm and majors design committee. He also previously served as the Director of Admissions and Outreach for O.P. Jindal Global University (2018-19). 

 

Professor Bala is on leave for the 2019-2020 school year.
