Why JSLH

INTERDISCIPLINARY COURSES

We believe that the best way to learn is to learn from multiple perspectives. Through nineteen core courses, students engage in a variety of social science and humanities subjects such as literature, history, environmental studies, political science, expressive arts, and philosophy. These courses serve as the foundation of our programme and the jumping off point for further study.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

We believe in learning by doing. Our classes place an emphasis on discussion, debate, and hands-on activities. Many of our courses feature sizable field work to locations around Delhi / NCR and beyond. Past site visits include Sonipat, Chandni Chowk, the Lodi Art Colony, Nizamuddin East, the Jaipur Literary Festival, Sarnath, Varanasi, Lucknow, Dharamshala, etc…

FACULTY-STUDENT MENTORSHIP

We believe in a strong and vibrant community. In JSLH, faculty and students work together closely. Every student is assigned a faculty mentor that serves as a guide through their time in the program. Our faculty are accessible and place primary importance on teaching and mentoring students.
